In an interview with The Huffington Post, best-selling novelist Stephen King prophecies a long future for the codex book, because they have been around for a much longer time than other forms of dead media such as the phonograph record and the compact disc.
"Books have been around for three, four centuries, certainly since the time of Gutenberg's moveable press."
He also says that one advantage of a traditional book over a Kindle is that if you drop a book in the toilet you can fish it out, dry it off, and continue reading. Not so with a Kindle." It's one of those images that you would rather not have lodged in your imagination.
