"Embodying the City in A London Garland"
Here is a link to a pdf of Nicholas Frankel's essay Embodying the City. The reason why I'm including it here is to offer a model for (you) students to emulate when structuring your seminar papers. Take note of Frankel's sensible "sub-chapters," look at his close reading of particular images and poems, consider how he engages his ideas with other scholars and book historians. Take special note of the first full paragraph on page 97; this is where Frankel makes his intentions and questions explicit. It's not a coincidence that this paragraph appears at the end of his introductory section. This essay also happens to be an excellent example of Chicago documentation style.
