From "Clerestory," a supplement to the Journal of Artists' Books |
Students in the seminar have a copy of the second iteration of the "New Manifesto of the NewLights Press. It doesn't take terribly long to read, so be sure to read it again before class tomorrow. Also take a look at the digital facsimile of
the first iteration. What has been changed? Why? We'll discuss this, and many other things, with Aaron during our Skype session on Thursday. Bring other questions and comments. Here's a link to a big bunch of
NLP digital facsimiles. Probably my favorite NLP publication is a smallish booklet called
The Infernal Method that was included as a supplement to no. 3 of
Mimeo Mimeo, my favorite journal. Check out "Curator's Choice," the newly published no. 8 of Mimeo Mimeo, available at Bridge St. Books (2814 Pennsylvania Ave, NW). Of particular note for our seminar is the series of eight blog posts under the title
The Return of the Democratic Multiple. If you get a chance to read them, please do so. If you have time to explore the NLP blog, please do. It repays handsomely. (Consult the list of "subjects" in the right column... keep scrolling.)
Aaron is the director of The Press at Colorado College, although I'm not sure if that is his official title. Colorado College has a long and august tradition of letter-press printing. Check out
The Blog of The Press at Colorado College. It's smart, fun, and informative.
