Rosenwald Recap

Dan DeSimone, Curator of the Rosenwald Collection at the LC
Yesterday's visit was, as promised, a true highlight of the semester. In this photo, Dan is teaching from Gerhard Mercator's 1595 Atlas sive Cosmographicae. Remember that everything we saw (except for the Vesalius and Hooke) have been digitized with hi-res scans by the LC and available free of charge: Digitized Rosenwald

Nowhere else in the wide world could we have experienced these books and manuscripts in such intimate and direct fashion. Endless thanks to Dan DiSimone, Mark Dimunation, Eric Frazier, and everyone at the Rare Book and Special Collections Division. Thanks also to the visionary gift of Mr. Lessing J. Rosenwald!
