An ongoing online project of Casey Smith's MA seminar, "The History of the Western Book," at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington DC, focusing on information, discussion, and debate about the history (and future) of scripted forms, especially the printed forms of the past five hundred years commonly referred to as books.

Artists' Books Online
This is one of those websites that I'm familiar with but overlooked in compiling the links list (it's there now). Thanks to our classmate Julia for bringing the oversight to my attention. The project is managed by Johanna Drucker at the University of Virginia, and it's really marvelous. Drucker has published widely in the field of artists' books (both books themselves, as well as criticism and theory) Her work is well worth seeking out. My favorite collection of her essays is "Figuring the Word." Artists' Books Online
