In looking for images of hand-press printing shops, I came upon this amazing resource from the Walpole Library at Yale: Brian Maidment's handouts for his "English Caricature: 1800-1850" seminar.
Never underestimate the power of serendipity; put yourself in positions where serendipity has a better chance of occurring. Libraries and web searches are good spots, but you must keep your eyes and minds open to the potential value of finding something you didn't know you were looking for.
